The Sunny Gossip

Man City want Pogba, Sterling and Henderson, De Gea and Di Maria want di exit, Liverpool eye Yarmolenko and...

Arsenal are to meet Palermo over Paulo Dybala, Manchester City could move for Carlo Ancelotti, Newcastle want Andreas Beck...
CITY TO SPEND MASSIVE
'MANCHESTER CITY are ready to set a new £100million world-record transfer fee so they can finally compete for the Champions League,' says an exclusive in The Sun that leads us to this question: Have The Sun ever heard of FFP? We are such spoilsports.

'The mega-rich Etihad outfit want to land an attacking midfielder-striker of the same quality as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale,' claims Mike McGrath, leaving us to wonder who he could possibly have in mind. Neymar? They'll never get him.

No, it turns out that they're talking about Paul Pogba, a man never before referred to as 'an attacking midfielder-striker'. As a replacement for Yaya Toure, he would be unparalleled, but let's not pretend his game is even close to that of Messi, Ronaldo or Bale. It's almost like they've thrown those names in there because The Sun are worried their readers have never heard of Pogba.

Oh and City also want Raheem Sterling, of course.

The Mail on Sunday are claiming that Jordan Henderson will be a City target this summer. Will they pay £100m for him too?

DI MARIA WANTS OUT
Angel di Maria has no interest in staying at Manchester United and 'proving himself', says the Mail on Sunday. Instead, he wants out this summer, with PSG the likely destination once again. Could Edinson Cavani come the other way? The MoS certainly think so. One thing they insist upon is that Radamel Falcao will not be joining on a permanent deal. Well colour us shocked.

Elsewhere, the Sunday Mirror say that 'Manchester United are facing a "worst-case scenario" over David De Gea, with the Spanish keeper still refusing to commit himself to a new contact'. Basically, they might have to sell him for peanuts. We can thing of worse things. Like genital mutilation.

HUMMELS IN?
'LOUIS VAN GAAL has been given a massive boost in his bid to land Mats Hummels. Borussia Dortmund are now ready to sell the Germany centre-back for the right price, putting Manchester United on red alert,' says The Sun. But will he oust Chris Smalling? Surely not.

YARMOLENKO TO LIVERPOOL?
"He would be a good signing for the Premier League," said Roberto Martinez this week. "Any player who has got good ability in one-to-one situations and brings a goal-scoring threat can find a big role."

Who was he talking about? Dynamo Kiev winger Andriy Yarmolenko, of course. And the Daily Star Sunday say that he is a target for Liverpool. A £19.5m target, no less. Now is that instead of Theo Walcott? We're struggling to keep up.
